Denys Heppell has been sculpting professionally for over 50 years!
After apprenticing with Julien Bourgault in 1962, he chose to open his workshop in Saint-Jean-Port-Joli in 1964. He was selected to demonstrate his art in the Québec Village during the 1967 World Fair, alongside Maurice Harvey, Jean-Julien Bourgault and other well-known sculptors. Inventor of the outdoor fibreglass sculpture technique, Denys' projects over his career have been many. Denys introduced another of his specialities—waterstone moulding—to Saint-Jean-Port-Joli. He taught woodworking and furniture sculpting for many years. His work can now be found on every continent and he is regularly asked to create monumental sculptures for cities and private companies.
Denys hopes to contribute to a new wave in the sculpture arts.
